We took night train from Kunming to Dali and surprised me that deep in the southwest of China the old town had preserved well and the new buildings are still taking the same outer look of a Chinese building.
They do have sliver every where you go.......
Starting to wonder in here tourist is = to shopping. Why is that?
But it was these sceneries were the reason I came......
Girl in local head dress and local clothing was the tour guide for us that day.
New buildings are still having Chinese style roofs.
Out of Dali old town we had brief stop at these three pagodas that they were built in Tang dynasty.
Continue on to Butterfly Spring.....
an old man selling pipes for cigarettes was in Han's clothing, Mongolian hat in the hot day, as I felt...
Spring water was clear and said to bring luck of all kinds so people lined up to touch it.
The name of Butterfly Spring, there got to be some butterflys around.....so there were...
just that the flowers they rested on looked the same as those in Makasa and I believe I had seen this kind of butterflies there too....
I think, I saw these flowers in Indonesia too.......the guide said they use it as anesthesia in old days!?
Again, new building with old window and roof designs........
in the afternoon, we took this huge boat across Er-Hai, a large lake had been called as ocean since the old days.......to an island that had rebuilt to its old history......
an general been sent to Myanmar in the first century, been treated well and came home with a golden Buddha and kept on this island......
now this palace site becoming a hotel, it looked like.......
back to the boat for a Bai minority's dancing show.
back to town, we were treated to an out door theater with an large stage cultural dances and singings.
we stayed in Dali that night.
