Work started, but not yet Fish Pond Farming.

At one visit to DOF Samfya, I got my usual lost on the way.....ended meeting with "Health Providers" Mark and Carmen......they had a house up high at a corner on the Lake side - Lake Bangweulu.  You have to know how to drive backward, with your head and shoulder out of window, up and down the deep sandy road to live here with family.

At my way home that day, there were two roasters fighting for the two chicken.....

Two cooking demo had done, one for women and one for men. who said Zambian men don't cook????

So I am off line now.......Cheng   May 30, 2012

I am in Makasa, 3 kilometer east from Musaila, Lupapula, Zambia.

May 14th I hired a taxi to run me to all offices in Mansa where I worked for my Yasakwa villagers, and the driver turned out to be the one who remembered me for he was the one picked me up from the accident site in Mibenge to the Mansa General Hospital.  His name is Moa, at the right.  The picture was taken at DOF provincial's fish ponds with the officer who kept email inform me about my projects in Yasakwa while I was recorying.

May 16th I moved into my post house in Makasa, which is 3 KM from Musaila the main route junction to Mansa or Lusaka.  They sing, dance and made "whole chicken" lunch for me, wait till I finished my lunch, the meeting leasted 4 hours........all excited on what projects we can do in the coming year......thanks to my Yasakwa experiences.  I trust these villagers will do even better.

My post home for the coming year.

Big move in.

Welcome party starts......

I was supposed to finished the whole chicken by myself.....I shared with three other women officers.  This villages has more women officers than I have known.
My counterpart is a carpenter and he offered to build me book shelves so I can loan him my books.

The second day early morning, he came with another counterpart, we biked to Samfya (5KM) to buy the script wood and cut to shorter pieces, tight on to three of our bikes and we WALKED home in the heavy load and mid day sun.....

Next to my house under the tree is his workshop and my book shelves turned into kitchen shelves first......Okay let me post this one first...........Cheng   May 30, 2012

Catch up some pictures from London.

While landing in London, there were a lot of fields with these yellow flowers....do you know what are those???

Walking on streets in London I felt streets were narrower than what I had seen in the movies or news.......no tall buildings around here.......clean and quiet in the Sunday afternoon.

Buckingham Palace - hard to have a nice pictures of the whole gorgeous view.

This is the front entrance of the Palace I would believe, where the newly weddings waving to the greeters?!.
In between the Palace and the St. James Garden.

                                                          The Parliament.

Have to check on guide book to know what churches these were, sorry.

A week in Lusaka now, I had all paper work done plus collected lots of documents for fish pond farmings and materials for villagers meetings.
Tomorrow I will have a day off to go for a little sightseeing in the morning
and the first checking out on their art crafts at Saturday market.
Sunday early morning I will travel 900+/- kilometer north to Mansa, Luapula to stock up my suppies and buy bed, beddings, etc. for two days.  Wednesday I will be at my post home in Musaila.
Hope I will have some pictures from Lusaka for you tomorrow afternoon
when I am back from the sightseeing.
You all have a nice weekend.

I am in Lusaka, Zambia again.

Hello, all......I have arrived in Lusaka, Zambia on time with all luggages and my two PCV friends met me at the airport, carried my luggages to the PC vehicle for me to came back to PC office togather.

I had almost eight hours lay over in London so I went in town on electric trian with a group of missionary prople from Arkanso.  They were going to Gona two hours later than my departure time so I came back to airport by myself without any issues......Weather was light it is in Seattle - gray and dump and I was walking in streets for more than three hours.

This morning, I have seen a few officers and still few more to go yet. No hurry, I will be here a week. Now I am going to have Nshima for my first lunch at PC compon here with other PCVs.  See you all on the blog again soon......Cheng  May 7, 2012
